Project: Site 665
Applicant: Sandymark Investments PLC
The warehouse development at Site 665 is located within a 2.19 hectares site at the junction of the Newcastle Road (R120) and College Road in Rathcoole, Greenogue, Co. Dublin.
The key elements of the project involved the construction of:
- 9,219m2 (99,233 sqft) warehouse area, including initial soil stabilisation, the installation of super flat FM2 specification flooring, dock levellers and level entry doors.
- 865m2 (9,311 sqft) integrated offices with 188 m2 (2,024 sqft) of staff facilities over three floors finished to high specification throughout.
- Ancillary car parking at the front with a durable concrete HGV marshalling yard and parking located towards the rear of building.
- Site development works including all services, foul & surface drainage, stormwater attenuation and boundary treatment.
A critical design feature of the project was the external appearance of the offices. This enhanced architectural appearance was achieved by providing a circular plan shape with large quantities of curtain walling and featuring wall framing. In addition to this, vertical glazing panels were added to the warehouse elevation facing the road allowing for the exposure of the roof truss and warehouse activity as part of a modern industrial landscape.
Kavanagh Burke Consulting Engineers provided Assigned Certifier, Architectural, Civil & Structural Engineering and PSDP services for this project.
